The 2011 Canberra International Electric Vehicle Festival was a fantastic event. Despite the cold (and sometimes drizzle), there was a fantastic turn out and the best part about it (at least from my perspective) was that I got to meet some of YOU at the event. I also got to meet a number of new people who were interested in my Electric Go Kart which I had on display at the Electric Vehicle Festival. I was on my feet for most of the day with people asking lots of questions which was great. Even kids as young as 6 were asking intelligent questions, with some of the questions being specific to the Motor Controller I built. I enjoyed the crowd that gathered around my Electric Go Kart. It was also great to explain how I built my Electric Go Kart and how it worked. People were taking lots of pictures of my Electric Go Kart. The feedback about my Electric Go Kart was great. I have also taken on board the suggestions some people have given me and will try and work them into future upgrades to my Electric Go Kart. Where appropriate, these suggestions will also feed into my Electric Car Conversion where I’m still in the planning stages with it.

The Festival was also a good place to see many other different types of Electric Vehicles and Electric Cars, the majority of them being DIY Electric Car Conversions. There were some car manufacturers, with Tesla having a strong presence. There were also Electric Boats, Electric Bikes, Batteries, Charging solutions. I got to ride in some other Electric Vehicles and Electric Cars.

As I have a lot to report about on the Festival, I will provide a general summary on this post. Over the next few days, I will add more posts which will elaborate on more details. I was also asked by some blog readers to provide an in depth report of the event as many of you would have liked to come were not able to, so I plan on updating you on what happened at the Festival.
